Latest on Mercury Direct 6.0

Unfortunately, I cannot get FTD to budge on their decision to charge me lots of $$$ so that I can write an interface to allow flowerSoft users to send business their way.

Since I can’t afford to do that without passing the cost to the few flowerSoft users that are also FTD members, a cost that by my estimate would be in excess of $1,500/year for each flowerSoft user, I regret to inform you that after 25 plus years of interfacing with Mercury, since the days of the Mercury 3000, flowerSoft will not be able to interface with Mercury Direct 6.0.

As of now, the Mercury Direct version 5.0 still works.  However, today I was informed by FTD that will shut down that interface as of the end of the month (June 2016)

So as of the end of the month, you will no longer be able to send or receive FTD orders through flowerSoft even if you are still using the Mercury Direct 5.0 software.

They will not allow our FTD members to send or receive orders through flowerSoft unless I pay them each year for the privilege.  A strange position to take when they are the one, not flowerSoft, benefitting from our users sending orders their way.

As I’ve stated before, we are and have always been willing to write an interface for their new version as long as we don’t have to pay them to do something that, since do not charge you for it, only they will profit from.

flowerSoft continues to have free-of-charge interfaces with Teleflora and FSN.
